ICON CDC was established in March 2000 due to the blighted condition of communities, low rates of civic participation and need to expand economic opportunities for low-, moderate-income, and traditionally underrepresented individuals. The Mission of ICON CDC is to facilitate processes by which communities, neighborhoods, households, and individuals empower themselves politically, economically, and socially by promoting skills management, and economic development in the Pacoima community and in surrounding communities throughout Los Angeles.
